Nature Discovery Centre

The Nature Discovery Centre near Newbury has a wonderful lakeside setting. The visitor centre, with café, hands-on exhibits and a varied and ever changing calendar of activities provides an ideal base for a day out. Their fantastic adventure playgrounds, network of footpaths and wildlife offer many opportunities to enjoy the fresh air at any time of year.

Once again everyone at The Nature Discovery Centre is looking forward to the warmer brighter days of spring and summer. Their next season promises to be action packed and full of events and activities for curious minds of all ages.

The Living Rainforest

The Living Rainforest is a new breed of public education institution, passionately committed to telling the story of humanity in nature.

Visitors to the visitor centre are immersed in real rainforest experiences. Their interpretation links plants, animals, ecosystems, human needs, economies and cultures. They aim to delight and challenge, building on the incredible biological and cultural diversity of planet Earth.

Situated near Newbury in the Berkshire countryside, they are an all weather attraction open year round, seven days a week (excluding Christmas Eve-Boxing Day).

On your visit look out for free roaming animals, butterflies and birds as well as tropical plants that have changed the way we live today. Due to the changing nature of their exhibits, each visit to the rainforest offers a unique natural experience and it is recommended you allow up to half a day for your visit.

At The Living Rainforest they believe learning should be fun and hold regular holiday events including activities for families and children. Their great outdoor play area allows kids to let off steam in a safe environment, while adults can relax on the sun terrace with a cappuccino.

Their café serves a selection of hot and cold food. The range includes delicious baguettes, cakes and a children's menu. Drinks include soft drinks as well as rainforest-friendly tea and coffee.
